Amber Shute, Vice President/Secretary

Amber (she/her) is a Medical Herbalist consulting with clients in Victoria, BC and internationally. She is the founder of a small line of natural, ethical self-care products called Boushu Botanicals. Her love of all things flora combined with a passion for inquiry, formulating, cooking, and gardening has allowed her to experience firsthand how herbs and natural ingredients are potent tools for cultivating health. She is endlessly fascinated by the myriad ways plants support wellness and she is passionate about channeling her personal learning and experience into guidance that empowers her clients to cultivate whole-body health.

Amber holds a Diploma of Phytotherapy from Pacific Rim College and certificates in Essential Oil Safety and Essential Oil Kinetics from the Tisserand Institute. She has been a green beauty formulator for over a decade and an RHT with the BCHA since 2016. 

Amber joined the Board of Directors in March of 2019. Her focus has been to learn about the association’s systems and policies while identifying and implementing ways to streamline communication processes that create better workflow for the administration and enhance experience for members. Her focus has been to:

  • Lead the Website Development Subcommittee working to re-branding the association and oversee the creation of a new website and implementation of a new membership management system.

  • Assume responsibility for the Member Engagement Committee that oversees the association's Facebook account and generates its content.

  • Complete certain secretary tasks specific to membership processing under the association’s current system.
